Sitting in 3rd overall with points and top American going into day 2. But that means nothing and it's still anyone's game right now. Disappointed with myself after only 7 reps on the Dumbbell when I had more in training, but Farmers went better despite a slippery floor. Nerves a little higher than usual being out here alone as I tend to over-focus, but good seeing familiar faces and acquaintances. Slight calf strain from Farmers, but some therapy and a contrast shower or two should help it. Everyone here is top notch, and like I always say, even the guy who takes last place is an incredible athlete.

👍🏻 I appreciate the website, figured I could contribute a little bit.
The final stone
Arsjo keg toss
Last event is atlas stone series, 5 stones going from lightest to heaviest(140, 150, 160, 170, ~200kg) the distance to the platform gets less and the height gets shorter. Before the start Arsjo says he tore his bicep at Sweden’s strongest man 7 weeks ago and since he has the win already he is going to sit out stones. Granli vs Pollock- Pollock shoulders the first stone and runs to the platform but misses on the load, Granli loads 2 stones. Mourujarvi vs Rude- Rude’s first stone bounces out of the platform and he has to reload, ends up with 2, Mourujarvi gets 3. Bishop vs Leicht- Bishop shoulders the first stone to load it, goes down the line and loads all 5 in 45.17, Leicht really struggling with the height of the platforms, loads 3 slower than Mourujarvi. Kearney and Stahlberg line up but they tell Kearney he will be going solo because Arsjo is sitting out, it doesn’t seem to phase him but Stahlberg looked ready to go and seems disappointed, Kearney gets 4 in 27.79 and has a good go at the last stone but hits the lip of the platform and it drops. Big Z vs Stahlberg- with Z and Forsmark tied it would’ve made since to have them head to head but I guess they want the big Swedish final run, Z leading through the first 2 stones, Stahlberg loads the 3rd stone first but then Z takes over and finishes all 5 in 31.85, Stahlberg slows down and finishes all 5 in 46.49. Hannson vs Forsmark- Standing side by side these guys look like brothers, Forsmark just ahead through the 1st 3 stones, Forsmark takes over and loads all 5, Hannson slows some but finishes all 5, as has been the case several times today the announcer only says the times in Swedish but I went back and timed in and I think Forsmark is ~35 seconds and Hannson is ~44 seconds. Big Z wins the event but Hannson picks up 10 points and gets 2nd place by 0.5 points over Z. Final scores:
Final thoughts, Arsjo looked awesome. Savickas didn’t have a great day but still took 3rd and he definitely lost some points with the whole keg throw fiasco. Was really impressed with Stahlberg, he looked great except for the car walk where he took 11th place but still finished 5th overall. Forsmark looked good and missed the podium by only 1 point. After a slow start on the deadlift Hannson looked great, would not be surprised to see him make the WSM finals if he keeps it up. Every second counts, 3rd-5th on stones was separated by less than 3 seconds and any slip up could have completely changed the podium finishes. All in all good contest, was worth the $ and time on a procrastinating Saturday morning.
Event 4 is Car walk, 420 kgs (~925lbs) for 20 meters (~66 feet). Pollock 14.49 seconds, Bishop 11.54, Rude 14.61, Granli 17.8, Leicht 17.44, Kearney sprints with it for 10.02, Mourujarvi 19.42, Big Z 10.9, Forsmark 11.9, Stahlberg really struggles and gets 19.22, Arsjo flies at 10.50, Hannson 13.57. After 5:
Going into stones Arjso has the win locked up, 7 points separates 2nd-8th place so this could get interesting.
Event 4 is Fingal’s finger, 450 lbs, 4 flips in 60 seconds. Pollock 2 in 46.08, Granli 3 in 44.1, Kearney 4 in 56.2, Rude 3 in 45.74, Mourujarvi 4 in 47.95, Forsmark 4 in 39.5, Bishop 3 in 46.43, Z 4 in 44.88, Leicht 3 in 40.5, Stahlberg 4 in 34.53, Arsjo vs Hannson was awesome, Arsjo 4 in 31.7, Hannson 4 in 30.5 for the win. Score after 4 events:
Event 3 Keg Toss, 7 kegs- 2 blue at 18 kgs (39.6lbs), 2 red at 20 kg (44lbs), 2 green at 22 kg (48.4lbs), 1 black. Granli 2 kegs, Pollock 2 kegs quicker, Rude 4 kegs in 14.16 seconds, Mourujarvi 6, Bishop takes his time and gets all 7, Kearney 3, Forsmark get 6 in 21.09, Big Z starts tossing without looking, his 2nd blue hits and falls short but he already throws over his 1st red, he gets the blue over and then moves on but they make him go grab the red and rethrow it, he ends up getting 7 (really 8) in 45.57. Hannson crushes all 7 in 17 seconds, Stahlberg gets 7 in 23.3, Leicht 7 in 31.93, Arsjo gets all 7 fastest. After 3 events:
Arsjo is starting to run away with it but 3.5 points separate 2nd-7th.
Another correction, they showed scores and I guess they timed the reps on safelift because Hannson got 9 points and Z 8 but they had the same number of reps. So Z has 16 total and Hannson 13.5.
