Twin Stim OTC Review TENS + EMS Unit!

Watch the Video review

I reviewed the Tens 7000 unit a few months back which has been very helpful with relieving pain in my low back and helping me rehab a back injury.  My wife has pretty much claimed it, as she loves the thing.  Having had 3 back surgeries she still has issues from time to time, especially with a toddler that doesn’t let you rest. Seriously, babies are so tough on the body it really helps her manage her low back nerve pain using the TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) unit.

What it did not provide was EMS which means Electric Muscle Stimulation. I picked up Tens 7000, Twin Stim OTC unit which combines their TENS 7000 and EMS 7500 units into one. At 45.99 on Amazon it is one of the cheaper units that provides these features. So how has it worked?

I have been using this product for over 2 months. I have tried every different type of setting, which there are a lot. Included are 5 TENS settings and two EMS settings. In fact, it can be a bit confusing at first and that is my biggest complaint about the device. There are so many adjustments it can be a bit confusing without reading the manual, and required me playing with the settings to see what felt the best. Within each mode there are even more adjustments you can make to fine tune it. This is probably seen as a plus for most people as you can really change things up. For me I’d rather set it and forget it, put it on and let it do its thing.

After figuring out the settings, it does everything the Tens 7000 unit does, with the added benefit of EMS. Personally,  if I have sharp nerve pain the TENS setting works but not for muscle soreness, which is where the EMS setting comes in.

So how I use it is while doing office work I place the pads on whatever is sore muscle wise from what I trained the day before. Shoulders yesterday? I put it on my delts on EMS and let it work. I run it for 30 minutes and have noticed a relief and “less sore” as it contracts the muscle. I run it for 4 seconds on 1 second rest setting on the “A” setting.

I have had an ongoing issue in my forearm from overuse, between log cleans, holding my toddler, yard work, chainsaws, weedeating, etc.  I’ve had an ongoing issue in my forearm that really has been a drag but I have found using this Twin Stim OTC

has been helpful with managing soreness and I feel it is helping with my recovery. Especially as I can use it while doing other things and at $45.99 it is very cheap passive recovery, even if the effects are minimal it doesn’t cost you any time to use and every little bit helps.
