Zydrunas Withdraws from the 2017 Arnold Classic With Injury
The defending champion and 8 time Arnold winner Zydrunas Savickas announced on Sunday 2/19/17 that he sustained an injury practicing the super yoke in training.

“With sadness I must announce that practicing superyoke got injury and not able to participate in the Arnold Strongman Classic 2017. Superyoke weighing 710kg squeezed my nerves and disconnect my deltoid muscle. Reahabilitation may take about 2 months. I hope asap to return to competitions. Thank you to all my fans and I am sorry that in this Arnold appear. I wish for all the participants good performance and prevent injuries. Here my last training, earm up with 500kg”
The Bale Tote event has plagued a few athletes with injuries since its introduction at the Arnold classic and Zydrunas is the latest victim. Also off the competitors list now is Rauno Heinla of Estonia for undisclosed reasons. Competing in their place are Martin Licis (Latvia) & Martin Wilder (Germany)
