How To Train For The 18″ Deadlift
The 18″ Deadlift is very different from the conventional deadlift. Not only does the bar start twice as high. The variants of lifting with “silver dollar” boxes and a deadlift bar can really make it different than your deadlift off the floor and form changes need to be made to put yourself in the best position to lift the most weight. Pulling from elevated heights is a common event in Strongman and should be trained specifically for the sport. Another benefit is the overload will add some muscularity to your back!
You can simulate the event by doing rack or block pulls
